Humor, romance, unique character and a small-town filled with sups made for an interesting read. There is a budding romance, one I imagine will progress over the series. Tom, her butler, and Niamh, her neighbor will need to bring her up to speed all while following the Ivy House rules.

Unfortunately Jacinta is a Jane (non-magical type) and unaware of their world. The town is home to misfit supernaturals, and all are protected by Austin Steele, a lone alpha shifter. Ivy House is filled with magic, and I loved exploring the rooms and secret passages and unique surprises.

Jancita doesn’t know it, but if the house chooses her, she will awaken its magic…. It is such fun having an older heroine as the main protagonist bonus points for the added paranormal woo-woo. They along with Austin, the local bar-owner, soon expose Jacinta to a world she thought belonged only in movies and books. Between the strange butler, groundskeeper and talkative next-door neighbor, things aren’t looking dull. Recently divorced and in need of a do-over, Jacinta accepts a position as caretaker of Ivy House, an old mansion she visited as a teen. Supernatural elements, life decisions and magic await you…. Travel with her to a small-town with secrets. This series features a forty-year-old woman starting anew. Breene is the first in the Paranormal Women’s Fiction series Leveling Up. I have a chance to start again, and this time, I make the rules. A very dangerous adventure that will change my life forever. Thankfully forty isn't too old to start an adventure, because that's exactly what I do. That is, until I learn what the house really is, something I never could've imagined. I'll be taking care of a centuries old house that called to me when I was a kid. Age is just a number, after all, and at forty I'm ready to carve my own path.Įager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. But when my husband of twenty years packs up and heads for greener pastures and my son leaves for college, that's exactly what my life becomes. "Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. A Paranormal Women's Fiction novel with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!
